This is the home of my various essays that have something to do with the world of anime. So far, I offer:
Productive Debate. This page meditates on verbal violence in our online community and how to respond to it without becoming afraid to say anything at all.
Interpretation. A companion page to Productive Debate, this one lays out what I think productive interpretation looks like, and why I say a lot of fans aren’t being productive in their analyses.
Hero/ine as Idol. Inspired by some of my leisure-research, when it struck me just how similar some of the anime heroes and heroines are to the figure of the Japanese idol. This is a fairly short essay.
No Conclusion. This one reflects on just what the terms no climax, no conclusion, no content might refer to.
